Throughout time the sauna has held an important place for Estonians. It was associated with spirits and with several important calendar holidays as well as with vitally important events. Alongside the sauna, water is just as important – water and fire have been among the fundamental elements since ancient times. This may also be a reason why Estonia has so many saunas and spas. It can safely be said that the Estonian is a proper spa fan who needs no convincing about why the spa is a lovely place!

Elamus Spa in Tallinn is the spa with one of the largest sauna selections in the Baltics. As the name says, there are experiences here for everyone – for the young and the older, alone or with the family.

2023 is the year of the sauna, so let us keep the traditions alive and take part in the experiences offered by the spas. Elamus Spa is a rich sauna centre with an abundance of mythical saunas:
Sauna rituals free of charge for guests take place in the saunas, letting you get the most out of them.

The private and quiet SPA21+ is a true sauna temple to escape everyday worries and let body and mind rest. The SPA21+ selection of saunas includes:
Water and the sauna always go together, so Elamus SPA’s offering does not lack options for swimming lovers.
The 25-metre pool has 6 lanes with a depth of 125–165 cm, offering training opportunities for competitive swimmers. The spacious pool also lets those taking it easier enjoy a calm pace.
Those who do not want to train alone can enjoy seven different group workouts – Aquamix, Aquainterval, Aquatone, Deep-water training, Aquacombat, Aqua Chi-Pi-Yo, Aqua Run Tone. The workouts suit beginners and more advanced trainers alike, offering aerobic and muscle training at various intensities.

For the very smallest water athletes and enthusiasts we offer, together with mums and dads, the chance of swimming lessons with babies, or children’s swimming training for slightly bigger water lovers.
For the year of the sauna, head of experiences Margit Kurn took on the challenge of reading every sauna book published in Estonian. Since Elamus Spa offers the chance to rest on comfortable loungers between sauna rituals or swimming, a book lover can grab an exciting book from the shelf to read on the spot. The idea came, incidentally, from customers who spend ever longer at the spa and wanted to refresh their minds between rituals.

To make choosing a book easier, Margit shares three sauna-themed book recommendations, offering light reading, practical sauna tips and something for history lovers too:
Both sauna bars of Elamus Spa and SPA21+ offer drink and food for visitors with different tastes. Between the healthy meat platters and fruit selections you can also find various fresh salads, but also more traditional beef and chicken burgers and fries. After a proper sauna, the bar offers refreshment in the form of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Food and drink can be enjoyed at the tables beside the sauna bar, on pleasant and comfortable loungers, or why not on the terrace instead. The approaching summer allows visitors, in good weather, to get a proper tan on top of the spa experiences.
There are several reasons to become a spa fan. Elamus Spa offers calm rest or more active physical activity to different people. And all of it year-round, right in the capital.
