What could be nicer than spending time at the spa with the family? Spending a whole day there! At Elamus SPA you can enjoy the pleasures of the spa with no time limit, so you don’t have to start explaining to the little ones that it is now time to go home. You can romp in the water right up to bedtime, because the spa is open until midnight.
The centre opens at 10 in the morning, but the swimming pool already at 7.30. If the really early risers didn’t have time to eat at home and hurried to the pool, there is no need to worry – something to eat can be had from the vending machines in the reception area, which offer a selection for both the big and the very smallest – the latter can enjoy baby purées and healthy snacks, for example.
You also don’t have to make the trip back home if something was left behind – from reception you can buy baby swim nappies, water toys, swimming goggles, swimming caps, footwear and swim vests.

To make things more comfortable for visitors with children, both the women’s and men’s changing rooms have high chairs where it is convenient to feed a child or wash them under the shower, changing mats for babies and, of course, baths as well.
There are also baby seats free to use, which you can take into the sauna centre to make things easier with a tiny baby.
In the changing room for children coming to training, everything the children need is available, and in the child-friendly room it is comfortable for children to get ready for training.
The large pool hall has a 25-metre sports pool where you can both train and bathe. For really tiny swimmers from the age of 4 months there are baby and toddler swimming lessons run by the Nord sports club and the Ujume Koos swimming school. The lessons are playful and fun, to make the child friends with water and teach the important skill of swimming.

When no lessons are on, parents can splash about with small swimmers in the children’s pool.
If your own swimming rings or armbands were left at home, they can be borrowed, subject to availability, both at the pool and in the children’s area.
The children’s area is a true children’s paradise. You can romp in the water, climb, go down slides, play with water jets and chase each other in the current pool.

In one area the water temperature is 36 degrees and the water depth 30 cm, so that small spa-goers are warm and comfortable playing in the water. On the other side it is 32 degrees with a depth of 1.5 metres. For birthdays or events you can rent the birthday room next to the children’s area, to be more private with friends and at the same time go straight into the water area to romp if you wish.
Of course, small spa-goers can explore elsewhere too – visiting the pools, the bubble bath and the saunas.
If swimming makes you hungry, you can also order more substantial bites from the spa café. A sure hit for thirsty swimmers is the ice cream cocktail, while more filling mouthfuls include children’s favourites such as frankfurters or chicken pieces with fries, burgers, pancakes or various fresh salads.

There are high chairs for children so the smaller ones can eat comfortably. And while waiting you can watch the golden fish swimming in the aquarium.
With children you sometimes need calmer moments too. At Elamus SPA you can even have an afternoon nap on comfortable beds. Those who don’t nap can enjoy a calmer moment, pick a children’s book from the shelves and leaf through it lying down.

With children it is definitely worth getting acquainted with the saunas too. Low-temperature saunas suit children well. Next to the children’s area is the 55-degree sauna Philosopher’s Stone, where children happily go and sit, and it is convenient for parents as well – when the older children can already manage in the pool on their own, you can keep an eye on them through the glass wall while sitting in the sauna.

If the children are interested, you can boldly visit the sauna rituals too. The more meditative rituals do require sitting quietly, but the whisking rituals, where you can make noise and let yourself go, are already quite popular from around age 10. Children should sit on the lowest sauna bench so it doesn’t get too hot.
Before leaving the spa, there is something intriguing to explore: a glass cabinet in the foyer holding a display of toys that ended up in the pool water filters. Looking at more than one of those toys sets a film running in your head – interesting, how did that little rubber duck end up in the filter, for instance?
It is not a rare occurrence either that a child has found and recognised a toy lost long ago this way.
At Elamus SPA Eda-Liis also values the hospitality, which immediately creates the feeling that you are welcome. The reporter asks to list a whole separate list of things that make Elamus SPA special for her:
