On 15 October Elamus SPA opened its long-awaited new children’s area, which offers an entertaining and relaxing environment for both the family’s smallest members and adults. The opening of the children’s area was an eagerly awaited event that brought along many happy visitors, including Elamus SPA staff, partners and spa fans from both Estonia and abroad.
The concept of Elamus SPA’s new children’s area is inspired by Mexico, more precisely by the Tulum region, known for its tropical and exotic atmosphere. Elamus SPA founder Andres Tiik explained that the Mexican tropical style has been adapted to fit the local environment. “Our main aim is to offer children more attractions and fun,” Tiik said on the opening day.

According to Tiik, creating the new children’s area was a many-sided project whose goal was to create something unique. “The children’s area is not meant only for the family’s smallest members – we have planned the area so that older children and adults can also enjoy a pleasant and experience-rich environment,” he added. The new children’s area offers adventurous water slides, play areas and much more, which makes it an ideal place to relax and have fun for children and families of all ages.
The opening of Elamus SPA’s new children’s area also contributes significantly to promoting international family tourism. Finnish tourists, who have long been among Elamus SPA’s regular visitors, are extremely excited about the new children’s area. Malle Kolnes, Visit Estonia’s head of client relations in Finland, stressed that Finnish visitors are always looking for new and interesting experiences, but at the same time also appreciate familiar places. “Visitors from Finland are always looking for something new, and Elamus SPA offers them a truly unforgettable experience,” Kolnes said.
Kolnes added that Finns, who are used to traditional sauna experiences, can enjoy something altogether more special at Elamus SPA – far more experience-rich and adventurous. The opening of the new children’s area and the accompanying updates give visitors the chance to experience a completely new spa environment. Kolnes confirmed that Visit Estonia and Visit Tallinn will continue cooperating with Elamus SPA in order to bring ever more northern neighbours to Estonia.

Although the new children’s area has been created primarily for younger visitors, adults have not been left without fun and opportunities to relax either. Henna Mikkilä, a spa fan from Finland who has lived in Estonia for the past two years, shared her impressions of the new children’s area at its opening event. “Although my children are already grown up and live abroad, I am sure that they too would gladly come and visit Elamus SPA. Age is just a number – here everyone can feel young,” Mikkilä commented.
The well-known cellist Silvia Ilves could not hide her joy at the opening of the children’s area either. “It is absolutely incredible what an exotic world Elamus SPA has created. My children cannot wait for the moment they can slide down these slides here and discover everything new,” Ilves shared her impressions. According to her, the new children’s area also offers exciting experiences for teenagers, something her family has been eagerly awaiting.

Elamus SPA’s head of experiences Margit Kurn shared her impressions at the opening event of how the new children’s area came about and what challenges the process brought with it. “The last few weeks have been very intense. Construction work was still going on even on the morning of the opening day, and only at seven in the morning did the last builders leave. We had a lot to do, because customers had long been asking when they could come with their children,” Kurn said. Despite the difficult period, she is extremely pleased with the result. “Today there is a lightness in the soul, because the great tension has passed. We have created something special,” Kurn described.

Kurn warmly thanked the whole Elamus SPA team who contributed to the success of the project. “Without our dedicated and lovely team none of this would have been possible. Everyone from the cleaning staff to the managers has given their best,” Kurn said gratefully.
Elamus SPA founder Andres Tiik hinted that the surprises do not end with the opening of the new children’s area – the spa plans to keep offering new and exciting experiences in future too. “Our customer zone is constantly changing, and quite soon you will see many more surprises,” Tiik promised, confirming that after completing the updates the spa does not plan to stand still but to keep developing. According to Tiik, with its international recognition and membership of the Aufguss sauna association, Elamus SPA has reached a high level in the spa world, and interest in franchising the Elamus SPA brand has grown outside Europe too, reaching as far as Japan.
